Why Donate to the Paly Choral Program

The Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides volunteers, enables tax-deductible donation to the Paly Choral Program, and organizes fundraisers to support our choir students. Your monetary donations to Friends of the PAHS Choir are fully tax-deductible, federal tax ID 77-0382876.

It takes a lot of effort and money to support our dynamic, award winning Choral Program.
We rely on your help.

Your gift of any size makes it possible to educate, train and present the Paly Choir. Your donation supports choral students and the Paly Choral Program by providing funding for a number of necessities. We would be grateful to receive your gift of time, goods or funding. Every contribution is appreciated, and no donation is too small.

Ways to Donate that Don't Cost You a Cent and Take but a Moment

There are a number of ways you can enable others to make donations to the Paly Choral Program. You can enable all of the following donations by taking less than 5 minutes of your own time to set them up.

• eScrip — This is a program to benefit schools and organizations that directly support the education of youth. You shop the way you like to shop for groceries, clothing, travel and entertainment. It's simple and convenient, all you need to do is register your grocery club and debit/credit cards.
  Participating merchants include Safeway, Whole Foods, Mollie Stone's, Macy's, Big 5, Round Table Pizza, Lands' End, Eddie Bauer, Target, Petsmart, Best Buy, Office Max, and many others. Please go to www.escrip.com to enroll your cards. Designate Friends of Paly Choirs, group ID 500023352, to receive contributions whenever you use the cards.

• GoodSearch — This search engine, powered by Yahoo, donates 50% of its revenue to the charities and schools chosen by you. Just go to www.goodsearch.com and use the website as you would use any search engine. The first time you use the site, you will be asked "Who do you GoodSearch for?" Please enter "Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir" and click the Verify button. Then every web search you conduct generates money for the Paly Choral Program. (GoodSearch ID 911346)

• GoodShop — This online shopping mall is offered by GoodSearch. The company has affiliations with more than 1,300 online retailers including Amazon, Target, Staples, eBay, Best Buy and Apple. A percentage of each purchase, as indicated on the GoodShop site, is donated to your designated charity or school. Just go to goodshop and use the website as you would any online storefront. The first time you use the GoodShop site, you will be asked "Who do you Support?" Please enter "Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir" and click the Verify button. • Matching Gifts — Many employers will match your gift to Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir. Whenever you are able to make a donation to our Choral Program, you may enable your employer to donate an equal amount to the Paly Choral Program. Please be sure to contact your HR administrator for details.

More Ways to Donate

There are a number of ways to contribute to the Paly Choral Program:

• Concert Tickets — When you, your family and friends in the community obtain tickets to attend our concerts, you not only support the Choir with your presence but also provide funding for Choral Program activities.

• Online Transaction — Donate via secure charge card transaction using the Donate button at the upper right on this web page. The credit card charge will be listed on your statement as Friends of the PAHS Choir.

• Matching Gifts — Whenever you are able to make a donation to our Choral Program, please be sure to contact your HR administrator for details about the company Matching Donation Program. Many employers will match your gift to Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir. Your donation of any size is greatly appreciated. Your committment to increasing the value of your donation by enabling corporate matching doubles our donation dollars. Thank you!

• Auction or Raffle items — On behalf of our Choral Program, Friends of the PAHS Choir and members of our choir community occasionally are able to offer larger, more valuable items for raffle or auction (silent or live). Items might include weekend vacation retreats or spa visits, European trips, culinary or home decorating services, professional quality handmade items, etc. Whenever you are able to purchase raffle tickets or place winning auction bids, your contributions fully and directly fund our choir students and the Paly Choir Program. • Gift Shoppe items — Whenever Shoppe items are available at performances, please take time to browse the assortment of lovely gifts, decorations, plants and handmade items. Your purchases fully and directly fund our Paly Choir Program. If you have a talent for creating and are able to donate gift items to offer at a Shoppe, please let us know. • Baked Delicacies — At performances where baked delicacies are offered, please buy them and encourage your student to buy and enjoy them. Whenever you are able to contribute your own baked goods to benefit the Paly Choir Program, your time and talents and effort are greatly appreciated. • Volunteer time — The Paly Choir appreciates any time you can volunteer, both behind the scenes and at a performance, either planned ahead or offered immediately "in the moment". As we particpate in volunteering together we can grow closer as a community while showing our students our active support of their dedication to the high performance standards of the Paly Choral Progam. • Hire the Choir — Arrange for a performance of a Paly Choral group at your private, professional, corporate or non-profit event. For more information, see the FAQs about hiring and scheduling.

• Choral Scholarship — Create a scholarship or contribute to one of the existing scholarships for Choir members. For more information, please contact Marilyn Abrams about scholarship contributions.

All proceeds raised by or donated to the Friends of the Palo Alto High School Choir go towards funding the numerous activities of the Paly Choral Program.
