Community Service Opportunities

A resource to help you find a volunteer opportunity is the VolunteerMatch program website. Using the VolunteerMatch search tool you can search for opportunities listed by city and distance, by interest area and skills, by volunteer category, and by agency name. Throughout the school year, the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) sponsors monthly community service projects for the participation of Paly students and parents. A calendar of projects is available on the PTSA web site. To find out about upcoming volunteer events, you can join the Paly community service e-mail group. You can also find general information about volunteer opportunities that are available during the school year, summer, and year-round at the summer volunteering web page.

To document your community service hours, follow the instructions for tracking your time and fill out the Community Service Verification form. If you accrue 100 or more hours of community service within the year, you are elligible receive the Presidential Service Award. You may apply for the award every year that you complete at least 100 hours of community volunteering.
