College Admission Process - Rights and Responsibilities
The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) supports the efforts of counseling and enrollment professionals committed to helping students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. The organization sponsors 47 National College Fairs throughout the U.S. each year to attend free of charge. NACAC provides useful and clearly stated information in a brochure about the rights and responsibilities of every student at each stage of the college admission process:
- Before you apply
- As you apply
- When you are offered admission
- If you are placed on a wait list or alternate list
- After you receive the admission decisions
As noted in the NACAC brochure, you can also find additional information under the heading “What questions should I ask when considering a college or career school?" in the U.S. Department of Education Student Guide.
