UC Change in Freshman Admission Policy
For Applicants to the Fall 2012 Entering Class
New eligibility rules will take effect for applicants to the fall 2012 entering class on UC campuses. Complete description of the differences from the current admission policy is available, and your questions can be addressed directly to UC Admission Counselors:
- SAT Subject Test recommendations for specific colleges, schools and majors for some UC campuses
Currently, test and coursework completion, together with grades in UC-approved courses and test scores – including scores on the SAT Subject Tests – are used to determine the top 12.5%. Under the Academic Senate proposal, “top” would be adjusted to exclude SAT Subject Test (SAT II) scores and to include considerations of merit beyond grades and test scores alone, through creation of the “entitled to review” pool.
