Farewell Paly Gym--Celebrating 85 Years of Fond Memories

On Sunday, March 16 from 12:30pm-4:30pm, join us for a fun-filled family event  from bidding a final farewell and paying our respects to the space that has given our community so many fond memories. This event is open to the entire community and all are invited to join. This celebration will feature a video presentation, VIP speakers, and stories of the remarkable history of this iconic building.

The Media Center, your non-profit local community access TV station is broadcasting the Farewell Paly Gym event LIVE on March 16th, 2014. After the event they will be offering DVD's for sale at $15 each. You can order your copy by clicking on the link below. 


Activities on the Day

  • 1 pm - tours of the campus begin (45 minute walking tours)
  • Then and Now - a display of artifacts spanning 8 decades including a 1930’s Model A and a 2014 Tesla.
  • Palo Alto Historical Association booth - old photos, yearbooks, and oral history set up, leave a special story, etc.
  • View renderings of the new sports complex.
  • Vintage fashion show!
  • Paly Sports Wear for sale
  • Snack Shack to be open (hot dogs, chips, drinks, etc.)
  • Ada's Cafe will be present


Due to the expected high turnout for this event, we will reserve the Churchill entrance parking area for senior citizens. Others may park in the main Paly lot off Embarcadero/El Camino or at the District parking lot on Churchill, closest to El Camino. Bikes and carpools are encouraged.
