There are a variety of ways to critically evaluate web sites. For more information check out UC Berkeley Library's comprehensive evaluation process . or evaluation tips from dianahaker.com. UC Berkeley Library has a great searching tutorial also, so if you want to save time and become a more efficient searcher check it out. Got to their page on Search Engines to read about how search engine databases work. Their page on Directories explains how subject directories work and gives instructions for finding subject-specific directories.
Global Search for Books and Articles in Libraries
- Worldcat searches a multitude of library cataogs all around the world for books and articles and finds libraries nearby where you can check out resources. Students can use the Green Library at Stanford seven times a year, so if you find something there you can use that resource in the Green Library.
