General:
- Paly’s contribution to the Canned Food Drive is extremely sad. Over 50% of the 4th period classes have zero cans. Collection starts on Monday, so shape up Paly and bring in those cans. You CAN do it. (Wixsom)
- Buy your Winter Formal dance tickets this week, today to Friday. Tickets are $20 with ASB and $25 w/o and for guests. Get them out on the Quad or online at the ASB web store. (Mullins)
- All interested in doing “Play in a Day” must come to the Theater tomorrow at lunch to sign-up. (Woods)
Clubs and Meetings:
- Math Club meets at lunch today in room 704. (Antink)
- Site Council meets today in the ERC. PTSA members are invited, too. (Miller)
- There is a general ASB meeting today at lunch in the ERC. All are welcome. Clubs must send one rep. (Mullins)

Kenyon College – Trustee Opportunity Travel Grant - Juniors and Seniors of first generation and other underrepresented students interested in visiting Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. Grant provides financial travel assistance to students from underrepresented backgrounds to determine if Kenyon College is a good fit for them. Applicant must provide copy of recent transcript. Johnson & Wales University – Chancellor’s Scholarship - Seniors who are interested in attending Johnson & Wales University. Renewable scholarships ranging in value from $7500 to Full Tuition for undergrad applicants accepted into the J&W U Honor’s Program. College of Creative Studies – 18th Annual Award of Excellence - Seniors interested in pursuing a career in art or design, and attending the College of Creative Students (Detroit, MI) (founded in 1906). Students interested in competing for the $20,000 renewable scholarship award should contact Ms. Cernobori in the College Center by 12/07/2007. Applicants should be able to demonstrate artistic ability as evidenced by a portfolio with very strong technical and conceptual skills. Applicants should have a GPA of 3.2 or above and have completed the SAT (score: 950 or higher) or ACT (score: 18 or higher) prior to 2/01/2008. Students must apply to the CCS and be accepted for admission and submit portfolio of work on CD in JPEG format by 2/01/2008. Gates Millennium Scholars Program- Administered by the United Negro College Fund - African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American seniors with significant financial need. Must be able to demonstrate strong academic performance in mathematics and science courses, involvement in community service and leadership potential and will be attending an accredited college or university. AXA Achievement – Community Scholarship - Seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in school activities, community, or workplace. Program offers up to $1.3 million in scholarships awarded at the national and state levels. Applicant must submit application, official high school transcript, description of achievement in a non-academic activity or project and an appraisal from an unrelated adult who can attest to student’s outstanding achievement.
