General:
- There are many of you with overdue library books and library fines. Your parents will be notified of these obligations unless you take care of them immediately! Please stop by the library and clear your fines or make arrangements to work off your balance . (Henry)
- The Princess Project donation deadline has been extended. Please bring your gently used prom dresses and accessories to Guidance by Feb. 22. Thanks for supporting this great project. (Shultz)
- We are considering a new bell schedule for next year and we want your input. Please come by the ERC on Thursday at lunch to give us your feedback. (Shultz)
- It’s Oscar time. The annual “Can You Guess the Winners?” contest is ready to begin in room219. Student in Mrs. Paugh’s Film Comp and Literature course last semester or not, come by and mark your ballot by Feb. 21. (Paugh)
- Come out to the Quad to buy a Val-Gram for that special someone. They are $1 and will be delivered on the 13th. (Najar)

Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative (NEI) - High School Juniors & Seniors with leadership potential who are involved in community service programs are invited to apply for the NEI’s Student Leaders program. Selected Student Leaders will receive a paid summer internship with a local non-profit organization and participate in a six-day all-expense paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C in partnership with Bank of America and the Close Up Foundation. Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship - Seniors in need of financial assistance for college: (typical family income doesn’t exceed $50,000). Must have satisfactory academic standing and been accepted to an accredited 2 or 4 year college. Essay & recs required. Preference given to students who worked while attending Calif. high schools & fulfilled min. CSU coursework requirements with grade C or better. $500-$4,000 for 1st year & support during all undergraduate years, regardless of the number of years in college to graduate. eQuality Scholarship Collaborative - Seniors from Northern or Central California, in good academic standing who are applying to a two- or four-year college. California Teacher Ass’n (CTA) Santa Clara County Service Center Council Human Rights Scholarship - Seniors who are members of an under represented group such as: Hispanic, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian/Pacific Islander, African American, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual, Disabled persons. Must pursue a college degree at an accredited 4-year institution and a credential for a teaching career in Pre/K-12 public education.
