General:

1. Parking enforcement by the city will begin today, Sept. 21. Get your parking permits while the getting’s good. Students can pay for permits at the Auditor’s office – brunch, lunch and after school. Staff parking permits are available in the Main Office.
2. All Paly juniors will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 14 during the school day. Registration can be done at the Auditor’s Office or via Paly’s web store on http://www.paly.net. The fee is $30 (checks made payable to PAUSD). Any students other than juniors wishing to take the PSAT will need to make arrangements with another testing location. 1. ASB is looking for a freshman to serve as their class site council representative.  This site rep will attend site council meetings twice a month and can be an active member of ASB and events that it plans.  If interested, see Ms. Launer in the SAO ASAP. (Launer)
2. Have you taken your school picture yet?  If not, make-ups are on Sept. 29th.  If you don’t get it taken, it will not be in the yearbook. (Wixsom)
3. Students of color! Are you interested in attending a 4-year college directly after graduation? Come learn about Foundation for a College Education from Ms. Shultz in the Guidance Office. (Shultz)
4. VTP students, are you interested in a YCS leadership program? Come and help out in your community. See Ms. Shultz in Guidance for more info. (Shultz)
5. Have you done 100 hours or more of community service in the last 12 months?  If so, apply for the President’s Award.  Applications available in the Paly college and career center; due Oct. 16th for the Dec. 2009 ceremony.  (Owen)

7. On Friday, Sept. 25th there is no school so join other Paly students to make a difference at Hidden Villa.  15 volunteers are needed to work at the farm from 10:00am-1:00pm.  To sign up contact Anne Stewart, stewnetl@pacbell.net (Owen)
8. Don’t miss today’s PAMF Medical Explorer’s Post visit to the radio therapy unit @ 4:00pm.  Dr. Gordon Ray will discuss radiation and cancer treatment.  Info in the job file –work experience office.  Join the PAMF Medical Explorer’s Post. See Mrs. Gyves. (Gyves)
9. Earn community service hours by volunteering for the Student Election Office Program/See the big blue bulletin board in the Tower Building for details.  Nov. 3 election deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 22nd.  (Owen)
10. All students who took Canada College courses at Paly this summer (Alg-2/Toma; Career Class-/Owen) need to apply for a Canada College transcript.  Application forms are in guidance office. (Brown)
11. Work Experience meets tomorrow Tuesday, Sept. 22nd.  At 3:05pm-4:00pm in room 25 (Tower Bldg.) or at Gunn in room L-7 at 600-7:00.  Don’t be late. (Gyves)
