General:
- If you returned a library book late, or forgot to return it at all, you have a fine. Please check in the Tower Building or the Library to see if you made “The List”. If you’re on it, return the book and pay your fine before next semester! Seniors, take care of these obligations immediately before your name is sent to the Registrar. (Henry)
- For all you writers, poets, photographers and artists, submit to Calliope, Play’s own literary magazine. Send your work to calliope.paly@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions has been extended until Jan. 25. (Sharpe)
- Who is the first black person mentioned by name in American history? Find out by reading “Black Profiles in Courage” by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the next Paly book club selection. Please come to the library or email Mrs. Kellerman by the end of January if you’d like a copy of the book. We will read and discuss it at the end of February. Everyone is invited. (Kellerman)
- All P.E. students with a prep for a winter sport must show up to their P.E. class for the first day of second semester. (Diepenbrock)
- Get ready for intermural dodgeball during the first week of February. Look for sign-up sheets outside the ASB room and in Health Club. Turn in sheets to Wyatt Shaww or to ASB classroom. (Launer)
- The President’s Award certificates and pins have arrived. If you earned one during 1st semester, please stop by the CCC anytime to pick it up. (Owen)
- Second semester class schedules will be distributed in 4th period classes on Friday. If you do not have a 4th period class, please come by during 4th or later in the day to pick up a copy of your schedule. (Diorio)
Athletics:
- Girls’ Lacrosse try-outs are Feb. 1 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on the new turf. (Austin)
- Put it in your planners now. Track is starting and there will be a meeting on January 25 at 3:30 on the track. (Fung)
College and Career:
- Juniors and Seniors, applications are available for 2010 Summer Science Internship Arthritis Foundation. Deadline Feb 26. Applications can be found in the job file at the Work Experience desk. (Gyves)
- A representative from “Vision New America” a government internship program, will be in front of the Student center at lunch today to talk to students about program opportunities. (Erber)
Clubs and Meetings:
- Thespian Club meets today at lunch in the Theater, Student directed shows and field trips are being discussed. (Woods)
- The Gay-Straight Alliance meets Friday at lunch in room 33. All are welcome. (Rivera)
