General:

  1. If you returned a library book late, or forgot to return it at all, you have a fine. Please check in the Tower Building or the Library to see if you made “The List”. If you’re on it, return the book and pay your fine before next semester! Seniors, take care of these obligations immediately before your name is sent to the Registrar. (Henry)
  2. For all you writers, poets, photographers and artists, submit to Calliope, Play’s own literary magazine. Send your work to calliope.paly@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions has been extended until Jan. 25. (Sharpe)
  3. Who is the first black person mentioned by name in American history? Find out by reading “Black Profiles in Courage” by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the next Paly book club selection. Please come to the library or email Mrs. Kellerman by the end of January if you’d like a copy of the book. We will read and discuss it at the end of February. Everyone is invited. (Kellerman)
  4. All P.E. students with a prep for a winter sport must show up to their P.E. class for the first day of second semester. (Diepenbrock)
  5. Get ready for intermural dodgeball during the first week of February. Look for sign-up sheets outside the ASB room and in Health Club. Turn in sheets to Wyatt Shaw or to ASB classroom. (Launer)
  6. Second semester class schedules will be distributed in 4th period classes on Friday. If you don’t have a 4th period class, come by during 4th or later in the day to pick up a copy of your schedule. (Diorio)

Athletics:

  1. Girls’ Lacrosse try-outs are Feb. 1 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on the new turf. (Austin)
  2. With the semester ending, track is around the corner. Come to a meeting on Monday, January 25 at 3:30 on the track. Sign-ups will end on Jan. 31st.   (Fung)

College and Career:
A representative from Learning Programs International will be on campus to talk about study abroad and volunteer opportunities this summer in Spain, France, Costa Rica, Mexico, England and Italy. The session will be from 11:15 – 12 noon on Wednesday, Jan. 27 in the CCC. (Cernobori)
Clubs and Meetings:
The Gay-Straight Alliance meets Friday at lunch in room 33. All are welcome. (Rivera)
