• Download the driver by clicking here. If you're in the Guidance Office, click here.
• Locate where you downloaded the file to and run it. When you run it, it will ask you where to extract the files. I recommend the desktop because you're going to need to navigate back to this folder in a few minutes.
• Once you've extracted the files, go to "Start" and select "Printers and Faxes" (it may be located inside a folder called "Control")
• Choose "Add a Printer"
• Click "Next" if a dialog box pops up telling you about Plug and Play printers.
• Select "Local printer attached to this computer" (yeah, I know it's counterintuitive but trust me here) and choose "Next"
• Select "Create a New Port" and then from the pull-down menu select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and then "Next"
• You may get a warning about making sure the device is turned on. Select "Next" if you got this warning.
• You'll notice that the second box gets filled in automatically when you type in the first box. This is fine.
• Click "Next"
• A list of printer manufacturers should pop up. Ignore them and click "Have Disk..."
• A new pop-up window will appear. Click on the "Browse" button and browse to the location of the folder you downloaded. Folder was likely called "r3037en" then go into "disk1" folder and then select "OEMSetup" and click "Open"
• Then click "OK"
• A new window will appear. Select "Ricoh Aficio MP 4000 PCL 5e" (it's likely the second one in the list)
• Click "Next"
• It will ask you for what you want to name the printer and if you want it to be your default printer. Totally up to you!
• Click "Next"
• It will ask if you want to print a test page. Also up to you.
• Click "Next"
• Click "Finish"
• Boom*, it's now ready to use.
* You don't have to say, "boom," although some research indicates it aids in digestion.
