Jumper Cables

To properly hook up jumper cables. Make sure the vehicles ignition switches are turned off. Radios, lights, cell phones are off and doors are closed.

Start with the bad battery 1st. Hook up in this order:
Positive cable-bad battery
Positive cable-good battery
Negative cable-good battery
Negative cable-bolt or bracket on the engine.

If one can not be found then connect it to the bad battery.
Start up the good car, let it idle for a minute then start the dead car.

Eye Protection

MOST IMPORTANT...Wear some form of glasses to protect your eyes. Obviously certified safety glasses would be the best choice.

Tire air pressure

The air pressure in your tire should be checked at least once a month. Proper air pressure can increase your gas mileage by 2-3MPG. Lack of proper air pressure reduces the life of you tire and can be very dangerous. Most blow outs are caused by underinflated tires. If you are not sure what the pressure should be at, look in you owners manual.
If you cannot find it in there, 30psi is a safe pressure to inflate most passenger tires to.
Truck tires are usually 35psi
