After two years of respectable XC running and having fun with the racket, Sam got serious as a junior.
After battling through the dreaded "whooping" cough, Sam finished the season incredibly, with a 17-second victory in the League JV race and a solid showing as a Varsity member of the CCS squad. He then ran track for the first time, clocking an impressive 4:52 against rival Los Gatos, and is now well into his summer of training.
It seems Sam is determined to make his senior year a memorable one and with a solid summer of running he should be part of Paly's pack of runners aiming for top 15 in the league and top 30 in CCS. Don't be surprised if Sam busts out a sub 16:30 performance at Crystal and is part of the top 7 that could contend for the CCS D2 crown. |
