Jordan didn't run XC so we don't know what to expect from him over hills and a longer distance, but check out his improvement during his freshman track season in the mile:
5:24, 5:17, 5:06, 5:03, 5:02
Thats right, over the course of 2 months and as a result of his determined work ethic, Jordan improved 22 seconds in the mile!
One of several freshman
guys flirting with the 5 minute mile barrier, Jordan looked well on pace
to break it during a ridiculously fast Frosh Soph boys race against Gunn
that saw a 66 second first lap and 2:24 800 split. While the quick early
pace caught up with him, Jordan nevertheless came tantalizingly close on
several occasions, running 5:03 and 5:02, and would likely have broken 5
in a post-season time trial, had a season-ending leg injury not prevented
him from giving it one last shot.
With his hard work and natural ability,
Jordan should have a breakout first XC season and should be a scoring member of Paly's Frosh/Soph team. |
