At Central Park, Senior Captain Alok Subbarao leads the JV Boys with an incredible 3rd place finish, while Sophomore Peter Wilson again leads the FS Boys.

CHARLIE WINS A RACE!!!
Read on for the report from his coach... or read about it in his own words. (full pix)

"Racing today in nearby Hooglede, four of the eight Jr 15/16's did not disappoint. Attacking off a mid-race prime, AJ Meyer and Cody Foster got up the road and, soon thereafter, Charlie Avis (solo) and Ian Boswell (with two Belgians) bridged up. Bingo. The lead group was away and after dropping one Belgian, it was five riders with four 5 km laps to go. With two to go, the USA guys began attacking to break things up and with one to go, Cody and Charlie were away. At the line, Charlie Avis just nipped Cody Foster and, maybe 20 seconds later, AJ Meyer edged Ian Boswell and the lone Belgian to sweep the first four places. Goed gereden!"

AVIS STARS FOR US JUNIOR CYCLING
Junior Charlie Avis is, according to his parents, "having the time of his life" as part of the US Junior Cycling team competing in Belgium for 3 weeks. Check out his blog entry about his experience.

PALY RUNNING FORUM
If you've ever wondered any of the following things:
- what type of shoes should I get?
- where should I buy them?
- where are good places to run?
- how far are the different runs we do?

Or, if you've ever wanted to discuss any of the following with your teammates:
- the "bios" on the roster page
- performances at the most recent race or workout?
- how do we stack up against Gunn? Los Gatos? Royal?

If any of these apply to you, then visit the Paly Forum - created one year ago by Senior Brian Hsueh for the Paly Distance Runners. The forum currently has 37 registered actives and alumni (we're hoping to get more!) and has had 2500 posts discussing these things and much, much more.

ALASKAN VOYAGE
Coach Jeff Billing represents the Paly green on the Homer Middle School track, in southern Alaska - not bad scenery for a run, eh? (full picture)

TRANS-CONTINENTAL BIKING
Senior Willie Xiang is part of a group of riders cycling west across the country this summer. Sophomore Ben Sklaroff and his father are doing the same, but in the opposite direction. Read about their epic journey.

SUMMER TRAINING
Every weekday at 5:45 both boys and girls are meeting at the Paly Track to go for 15-60 minute runs. Athletes of all abilities and ages are welcome.
